Ticks.

So I just woke up...yes, I realize it is noon, but I have a busy weekend and today might be the only day that I can catch up on sleep (11 GLORIOUS hours) ...I feel a little disoriented and just plain UNPRODUCTIVE.

I hate this feeling.

But what feeling do I hate MORE?!

Waking up and realizing that I actually remember what I dreamt about, which  to be honest, I was a little excited about...I rarely remember dreams! Naturally, as all of you would probably do--because we are now Google-dependent creatures--I google it...and unfortunately, my dream did not mean such good things.

To elaborate on my dream:
I was in my dorm getting ready for a party (I don't really live in a dorm so that's a little random...). I had been really excited to wear this vintage beauty I recently scored. I had put it on..convinced it would be jaw-dropping gorgeous. In my dream, I don't really remember my reaction to my dress nor do I really remember how the dress looked like. Regardless, I remember feeling itchy from wearing the dress, so I take it off---IMMEDIATELY.  There I was half-naked...and infested with ticks. I don't remember my legs being infested, but I definitely remember my chest and arms. Weird. There I stood, in my bra, with ticks on my chest, as I attempted to pluck them off one by one. Boy was that hard!

My Googled interpretation:

-To dream you see ticks crawling on your flesh, is a sign of impoverished circumstances and ill health. Hasty journeys to sick beds may be made.
-To mash a tick on you, denotes that you will be annoyed by treacherous enemies.
-To see in your dreams large ticks on stock, enemies are endeavoring to get possession of your property by foul means.

Also, I think it might say something about my wearing vintage?

I'm a little (ALOT!!) freaked out by this.
I don't think anyone would like to realize that they might either be sick or be "attacked" by enemies.
To be honest, I'm a little (ALOT!!) surprised that I would even have enemies. I would like to think I treat others how I'd like to be treated..for the most part. Unless he or she is really a DB. I know that sounds really horrible.
I am trying to be a better Buddhist/person, really I am.
And hopefully, karma will be on my side.

Wedding Dress.

"June, this is how your wedding dress should look like" -My mom.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
This is supposedly a vintage dress that about 60 years old.
Look at the details! Now, that is just breathtaking.

My Favorite Store. Officially.

I had always thought that when I was ready to deem a store my favorite store, it would be a clothing store--whether it be a department store or boutique. Beautiful clothes has always been my picker-upper. I guess it still is in most cases. Unless, it is a store that reminds me of all the clothes I cannot afford currently. Damn you, recession.

Or maybe my favorite store could have been a store whose proceeds went to a cause (Housing Works, New York Opera House Thrift Store on 23rd st, etc.). Vintage stores do always help pass the time, as I have SEVEN hours to wait to meet everyone at Arctica on Thursdays.

But, surprisingly, I am giddy to announce that my favorite store is

Beyond any store of its kind. Damn right.
In the most dorky way, I spent what seemed like the whole day there. What else would one do on a rainy Sunday?

I fell in love.
Mind you, I have been there before, but I never truly appreciated all the gizmos that it sold. From closet organizers to STEAMERS!!! (I finally got a steamer, which means I might never iron my clothes again. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I am usually way to lazy in the morning to unwrap the cords of the iron, get out the iron board, put some water in the iron, then rewrap the cords...so I just pretend I am wearing something a la Alexander Wang and it is totally okay that I look grudge. You love my reasoning.) to this travel sleep sack--"security of clean, fresh sheets when you travel with a built-in poket for a bed pillow" (Ingenious. I really wish I had bought this BEFORE my eurotrip, but I bought it today anyway--for the future.) to everything to make your apartment look chic, or homey, or minimalist or however you want to decorate it.

Today's trip to Bed, Bath and Beyond--I'm secretly thinking about the episode of Will and Grace where they were remodeling the bathroom and Will jokes that he found everything he needed in "Beyond." corny humor. which i love--really was motivating. I need to organize my life, room, etc. I also found inspiration of a lot of DYI projects that I could do.

An semi-epiphany courtesy of my favorite store.
Thanks.

Never too young...

...to be fashionable.

Shiloh and Zahara, I can't wait until you've grown up and develop your own sense of style. Until then, Mommy is doing such a good job.

Is it weird that I am jealous of children?
Is it more weird that I want to steal that jacket from Shiloh?
It is very Burberry Prorsum.

Like everyone else in the world, I want to be Angie...and dress up my children like that. Oh, and save the world. Yeah, that too.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, darlings!

Hope you had or will have a great day/night with your love one(s)--I don't judge...

And if that isn't enough (IT SHOULD BE!!), let's hope for this:

Marc Jacobs Love Story Clutch.
It also comes as a satchel.
Personally, the clutch wins my heart.

Special happy valentine's day shout-out to the LOML. <3.>

The New Miu Miu, Meow?

I don't why I meow. But sometimes you are just excited that a meow comes out instead of real words. I assure you, that is completely and totally normal. So please don't hesitate to meow, but is this even worthy of a meow?!

Pre-Fall Miu Miu 2009.

Obvi, there are more than these two outfits in Miu Miu's Fall line. But these are my favorites--in terms of the fact that these both are wearable on the streets of New York City--without having to be either a model, European, or on the Conde Nast staff--Vogue or otherwise.
Actually, the whole Pre-Fall 2009 Miu Miu is quite traditional/normal. These colors are toned-down--a lot of blacks, maroons, etc. Definitely, not what I was expecting from the Miu Miu, to be honest. Is this what is to be expected nowadays--recession-proof fashion with recession inspired colors?

Meow? Sure, I love these outfits because I can actually envision wearing them. But I must say, I miss the days of the bold prints of Miu Miu already. Bold prints and RIDICULOUS, droolworthy shoes, circa Fall 2006.

Miu Miu Ready-To-Wear Fall 2006

Shouldn't there be jaw-dropping BOLD pieces to distract us from this current economic crisis--especially after the 381 points decrease of the DOW.. AFTER the stimulus package press conference?!

My grandpa is cooler than your grandpa

My grandpa, age 79, is pretty awesome. And that, I'm sure, is an understatement. I never realized how fashionable he has been over the years, until this recent trip back to Burma. Looking at the way he dresses, you'd never guess that he is approaching his 80th birthday. Case in point, that killer UNIQLO-esque bag. Sure, he totes it arEdit Postsound for his vitamins, maybe his dentures, and probably an umbrella-ella-ella-a--but DAMN, he does it with such attitude. And for his indigo hat--no words but totally awe.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get a picture of what was tucked under that black jacket, but believe me when I say, it was very much worth of the sartorialist (scott, give me call when you go to burma. i will HOOK YOU UP, bff!) black sweater vest-flannel plaid shirt. When I saw this picture of Josh Harlett, it reminded me a little bit of my Grandpa--how silly.

My Coco

Coco Chanel and Coco Rocha has nothing on my Coco.
There I said it.
Will the fashion gods punish me?

I'll take my chances.

Because once they see my Coco, they will melt. They will be putty. And maybe, they will reward me for having the cutest dog, ever. The ability to set the WORLD's do's and don'ts would be nice. First DO on the list: have a staple of cardigans in every color possible. You really can toss it over anything and look chic. DON'T: wear sweats outside of your house/apartment unless you are going to the corner grocery store to pick up ice cream...or a bottle of wine.
Agreed?

PS- first new year's resolution: I will not be too lazy to write in blog.

Back in Business.

Blogspot is officially my new medium for my blog. Not to say I didn't like my Tumblr site, but I figure that a new year warranted a new start. To be honest, I wasn't exactly thrilled with my blog on Tumblr. Even with my lovely friends following it loyally, (Thank you for putting me on your Google Reader.) it wasn't what I envisioned. or maybe I should admit, I've changed what I want my blog to encompass (more than fashion---as much as I love love love LOVE fashion, I do want to share other aspects...i.e. my rants and raves)

So, cheers to a new year and a new start.
As cliche as that is.

Yes, I do realize that I am starting this "new" blog or continuing my old one on a new site, however you want to look at it, in February. But, as many of you know, or as some of you didn't know until I updated my facebook status recently, I was hibernating in Burma--hiding from the brutal cold that swept New York City. To make up for my hiatus, I will backtrack and document my January in Burma here. Maybe, I'll make those New Year's resolutions that I forgot to make when I was in Burma and I didn't have a care in the world.

Be prepared to visit some majestic pagodas, travel to multiple cities in Northern Burma and Southern China, and be in awe of how precious my new puppy, Coco, is.
